Coinbase shuts down for almost an hour after bitcoin rises to $10,000


    After Bitcoin overcame the $ 10,000 mark and continued to grow, one of the largest exchanges, Coinbase, abruptly went offline for almost an hour:

    54 minutes later Coinbase returned to work, saying the outages were due to increased latency in data transfer. 

    However, Twitter users noted that this is not the first time that the exchange behaves this way during periods of high volatility:
