Ethereum Classic blockchain hosts Phoenix hard fork
Ethereum Classic developers announced the activation of the Phoenix hard fork:
The update aims to introduce similar features as the Istanbul harfork on the Ethereum blockchain. Phoenix occurred on block # 10 500 839.
Phoenix is the third harfork in 2020, previously developers have updated the network with Atlantis and Agharta.
All three hard forks are aimed at bringing the Ethereum and Ethereum Classic blockchains closer together. Interestingly, in early 2020, Vitalik Buterin suggested that Ethereum 2.0 could combine two coins into one.
