The claim relates to fraudulent YouTube videos during which fraudulent XRP distributions are conducted. A channel is created that masquerades as an official one, it launches an old Brad Garlinghouse interview or other Ripple event and adds a running line about XRP distribution. Naturally, no one gets back cryptocurrency.

Ripple has repeatedly turned to YouTube, but scammers continue their work. Previously, scammers lured ETH according to a similar scheme.
