UN: states restrict human rights using coronavirus as an excuse

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres stated that countries use coronavirus as an excuse to limit rights person. In his opinion, state authorities can introduce repressive measures under the pretext of protecting citizens from COVID-19, which, however, are in no way “unrelated to the pandemic.”

However, despite such allegations, Antoniu Guterres did not name examples of specific countries and violations.
