Western Union may buy Ripple MoneyGram

Bloomberg reports that Western Union, a leading money transfer provider, is considering buying MoneyGram.

At the moment, there is still no officially concluded agreement, but a proposal to buy a business for MoneyGram from Western Union has already been received. At the same time, MoneyGram's business is still not in its best condition due to the growth of millet for online transfers and the company already wanted to sell a few years ago.

Interestingly, the shareholder of MoneyGram is the company Ripple, which acquired the securities of a payment provider at an inflated price provided that they use the XRP cryptocurrency. Previously, Western Union also tested this technology, but did not take it into service.
